POS Kuwait. POS & Warehouse Management System
One point-of-sale and warehouse system for a 12-branch retail chain — with offline-ready terminals and live inventory.

Overview
Kuwait Retail Group runs a retail chain with multiple branches. Day to day, that means sales at every till, stock moving between a warehouse and the shop floor, and management needing one reliable picture of the whole business.
They asked us for a full-featured Point of Sale and Warehouse Management System that would handle sales, inventory and multi-branch reporting in one place.

- ClientKuwait Retail Group
- TechnologiesReact, Node.js, PostgreSQL
- Timeline8 Months

The challenge
With several branches selling from the same stock, inventory needs to stay in sync in real time. If it doesn't, stock counts drift, items are oversold or reordered unnecessarily, and reports stop being trustworthy.
At the same time, a checkout cannot stop because the network does. Every POS terminal had to keep working offline, then reconcile cleanly once it reconnected.
Goals
- Bring sales, inventory and warehouse management into one system
- Keep stock levels in sync across every branch in real time
- Keep each POS terminal working when the connection drops
- Give management reliable multi-branch reporting

Our approach
The core design question was how to combine real-time inventory sync with offline capability at each terminal. We treated both as first-class requirements: terminals keep selling when offline, and changes reconcile with the central inventory when the connection returns.
We built the system as a web application on React and Node.js, with PostgreSQL as the central data store. A relational database suits retail data well — products, stock movements, branches and sales all relate to each other, and the reports depend on those relationships being consistent.
Warehouse management sits in the same system as point of sale, so stock received, moved and sold is all recorded against one source of truth.
Key decisions
- Offline at the till, in sync everywhere. Terminals keep selling without a connection and reconcile with central inventory once they are back online.
- One source of truth. Point of sale and warehouse share one system, so stock received, moved and sold is recorded in the same place.
- A relational core. PostgreSQL keeps products, branches, stock movements and sales consistent, which is what reliable reporting depends on.
What we built
- Point of saleFast checkout at every branch terminal.
- Offline-capable terminalsEach POS keeps working when the network drops.
- Real-time inventory syncStock levels stay aligned across branches as sales happen.
- Warehouse managementStock is tracked from the warehouse to the shop floor in the same system.
- Multi-branch reportingSales and inventory reporting across the whole chain.

The results
The system was deployed across 12 branches. Stock discrepancies fell by 80%, and checkout time was cut significantly.
With sales, inventory and warehouse data in one place, the business now reports from a single, consistent source.
Tech & delivery
POS Kuwait was designed and built by the Prognesoft team over 8 months, following our process: discovery, architecture and design, development and testing, then launch and support.
