Client Interactive Web App. Custom Client Portal & Web Application
A bespoke client portal where enterprise users manage projects, review deliverables and talk to their teams — in one place.

Overview
Our enterprise client was coordinating projects, deliverables and conversations across scattered tools.
They wanted a single portal where their users could manage projects, review deliverables and communicate with teams, without switching between systems.

The challenge
Enterprise organisations are rarely flat. Different people need to see and do different things, depending on their role, team and seniority.
The challenge was a role-based permission system flexible enough for complex organisational hierarchies — without making the portal complicated for the people using it every day.
Goals
- Bring project management, deliverable reviews and communication into one portal
- Support complex organisational hierarchies with role-based permissions
- Keep the portal simple to use despite that complexity
- Reduce the overhead of client communication

Our approach
We designed the permission model around the client's organisational structure, so access reflects the way their teams actually work.
Then we hid that complexity from users. Permissions decide what each person can see and do, so the interface only shows what is relevant to them.
The portal is built on React and Node.js, with MongoDB as its database — a flexible document model that suits projects, deliverables and conversations of varying shapes.
We delivered the portal in five months.
Key decisions
- Permissions that mirror the organisation. Access follows the client's real structure of roles and teams.
- Complexity hidden from users. People only see what is relevant to them, so the portal stays simple to use.
- A flexible data model. MongoDB suits projects, deliverables and conversations that vary in shape.
What we built
- Project managementUsers manage their projects in one place.
- Deliverable reviewsReview deliverables directly in the portal.
- Team communicationTalk to teams without leaving the portal.
- Role-based permissionsAccess that reflects complex organisational hierarchies.

The results
The portal reduced client communication overhead by 50%.
It became the primary project management tool for three enterprise accounts.
